Marshmallow is said to have a positive effect against fever. According to Hildegard von Bingen, marshmallow is also soothing for mucous membrane diseases and is therefore used in particular for diseases of the upper respiratory tract and dry cough, as it calms the urge to cough.

Elderflowers are diaphoretic and antipyretic and are also a good remedy for colds in folk medicine. They are also said to have an effect on stubborn coughs and colds. Used early enough, elderflower tea may prevent or significantly reduce the onset of a cold. In acute colds you can drink 3-4 cups a day. Elderflowers are also said to have positive effects on rheumatism.

Mulleins are expectorants and help with hoarseness in particular. According to Hildegard von Bingen, the leaves are also said to help with heart pain. The mucus has a soothing effect and the saponins stimulate expectoration.

Turmeric is mostly used for nausea and bloating, and it aids in fat digestion. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory.
